Apple is gearing up for a much-anticipated product launch event scheduled for October 30th at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT. The tech giant has begun sending out invitations for this event, intriguingly named “Scary Fast,” which is set to be live-streamed on Apple.com/apple-events. This announcement comes in the wake of growing speculation that Apple is poised to unveil some exciting updates to its Mac product lineup.
If the event’s teaser is any indication, it appears that new Macs are indeed in the pipeline. Apple’s event page features an animation of the iconic Apple logo transforming into the Finder icon, fueling anticipation for the upcoming releases. Earlier this week, Apple insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that Apple might have a surprise “Mac-centered product launch” event in store.
So what can we expect from this event? Rumors are swirling, with strong indications that Apple could introduce a refreshed 24-inch iMac and a new MacBook Pro. Gurman’s report also highlights that Apple’s inventory of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros and the iMac has been dwindling, possibly hinting at the imminent arrival of new models.
One of the most exciting possibilities is the inclusion of Apple’s new M3 chip in these Macs, promising even faster performance. This speed boost could be the inspiration behind the “Scary Fast” event name. While Apple typically unveils new iPads in October, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that we might have to wait until next year for any updates in that department.
Notably, Apple recently hosted the “Wonderlust” event in September, where they unveiled the new iPhone 15 lineup, introduced updates to the Apple Watch, and showcased AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case. They also revealed a more affordable USB-C-compatible version of the Apple Pencil just last week.
