Apple is gearing up to give its mapping service, Look Around, a significant boost. Currently, a digital twin of major cities, Look Around, is set to venture beyond urban jungles and into the great outdoors. This expansion will see the feature cover more ground, both within the United States and internationally.

Think of Look Around as Apple’s answer to Google Street View. While it offers immersive street-level imagery, it has, until now, primarily focused on urban areas. But that’s about to change. Thanks to a recent discovery by eagle-eyed tech enthusiasts, we’ve caught a glimpse into Apple’s ambitious plans.

Data unearthed from the Apple Maps web beta reveals that Look Around is set to expand its reach considerably within the United States. No longer confined to bustling city centers, the feature will soon encompass major highways and even some rural roads. This means users will be able to virtually explore not just the heart of a city, but also the landscapes that surround it.

But the expansion isn’t limited to the US. Apple is also bringing Look Around to a host of new countries, including North Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Europe and Asia. This includes major players like China and Turkey. The move is a significant step in Apple’s global mapping ambitions and could help it catch up to Google in terms of overall coverage.

While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed these plans, the evidence is compelling. If accurate, this expansion will be a game-changer for users who rely on Apple Maps for navigation and exploration.

We can expect more details about the Look Around expansion to emerge in the coming months, including specific timelines and coverage areas. Until then, we can only anticipate the day when we can seamlessly transition from exploring a bustling metropolis to cruising down a scenic highway, all within the Apple Maps app.
