Apple today officially announced that it will host its highly anticipated fall event on September 9th, 2024, at 1 pm ET / 10 am PT. The event, taking place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, will be live-streamed on Apple’s website, YouTube, and through the Apple TV app.
With the tagline “It’s Glowtime,” this year’s event promises to be a showcase of Apple’s latest innovations. The company is set to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup, new Apple Watch models, and the AirPods 4. Additionally, Apple will provide official launch dates for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and other software updates.
The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to feature several notable enhancements. All four models are rumored to have a customizable Action Button and a new Capture Button for taking photos. The Capture Button will be located on the right side of the devices below the power button and will offer built-in gestures for zooming in and out or autofocusing.
Powering the entire iPhone 16 lineup will be the new A18 chip, ensuring compatibility with the Apple Intelligence features coming in iOS 18. While the standard iPhone 16 models are not expected to receive significant feature updates, the Pro lineup is rumored to feature larger displays, going from 6.1 and 6.7 inches to 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively. Both Pro and Pro Max models are also anticipated to include a 5x Telephoto zoom option, previously exclusive to the Pro Max.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to feature a thinner design with a larger display. Apple also plans to refresh the Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra. While new health features like sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring are rumored, their availability at launch remains uncertain.
Apple is preparing to launch two AirPods 4 models: a direct successor to the current AirPods 3 and a premium model with Active Noise Cancellation at a non-Pro price point.
