If you’re among the fortunate owners of an iPhone 15, here’s a heads-up: you’d be wise to swiftly update to the latest iOS version. Apple has just rolled out a crucial fix for the overheating problems that have been troubling its most recent iPhone models. According to the tech giant, iOS 17.0.3 delivers “essential bug fixes, enhanced security, and tackles an issue causing iPhones to run hotter than intended.” Additionally, an update for iPadOS 17 is now available.
Apple acknowledged that the overheating issue was partly attributed to a bug in iOS 17. They also pointed out that recent updates from third-party apps were contributing to system overloads. Apple has been collaborating closely with the developers of these apps, which notably include Uber, Instagram, and Asphalt 9, to resolve this problem.
If you’re concerned about your iPhone’s overheating or want to ensure your device stays cool, there are two ways to update to the latest iOS version. Your iPhone may be set to update automatically during charging and downtime, but you can also manually update it by navigating to Settings > General > About > Software Update on your device. Keep an eye out for iOS 17.0.3, as updates are rolled out gradually. Installing it promptly should help keep your iPhone’s temperature in check.
