Looks like Apple might be cooking up something new for its popular iPad mini. There are whispers that the company is seeing a shortage of the current model, which could mean a refreshed version is just around the corner.

Many Apple stores are low on stock of the iPad mini in several configs, while the device is considered “constrained” internally within Apple, I’m told. That *could* be a sign a new one is coming. It hasn’t been updated since 2021. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it updated for AI.

This isn’t entirely surprising. The current iPad mini has been out for a couple of years, and it’s about time for an upgrade. We’ve heard rumors about a new model with a faster chip, better cameras, and improved connectivity.

While Apple’s big fall event is focused on the iPhone 16, there’s a chance we might see the new iPad mini make an appearance too. Or, it could get its own spotlight later in the year. Either way, it’s something to look forward to for fans of Apple’s compact tablet.
