Apple‘s highly anticipated AI assistant, Apple Intelligence, is set to make its debut in a phased rollout, starting with select English-speaking regions and gradually expanding to support more languages and territories.
While the initial release will be limited to the United States in October, Apple has confirmed plans to introduce Apple Intelligence in German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Vietnamese by 2025. This adds to the previously announced support for Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish.
However, there’s a significant caveat: Apple has initially decided to withhold Apple Intelligence from the European Union and China. The company is currently in discussions with regulators in both regions to address concerns related to data privacy and competition laws.
So, when can you expect to try out Apple Intelligence?
- United States: October 2024 (English)
- Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, UK: December 2024 (localized English)
- India, Singapore: 2025 (English)
- Other languages and regions: To be announced
While Apple’s gradual approach ensures a controlled rollout and allows for refinements, it also means that many users will have to wait for their turn to experience the full potential of this powerful AI assistant.
