For those eagerly anticipating Apple‘s latest hardware offerings in 2023, you might have to wait a bit longer. A recent report from reliable Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple won’t be launching any new products, including MacBooks, in the final quarter of this year.
Kuo, known for his accurate insights into Apple’s plans, has shared his findings on Medium, revealing Apple’s strategy to clear existing inventory in preparation for new product releases next year. This news may come as a letdown for MacBook enthusiasts who were hoping for an announcement featuring Apple’s M3 chip.
According to Kuo, it appears Apple is planning to hold off until 2024 to unveil this anticipated MacBook version. The reason behind this delay is the tech giant’s strategy to give its sales a boost. Kuo has previously expressed doubts that the M3 chip alone would be sufficient to achieve this, especially considering that the demand for the 15-inch MacBook has significantly decreased after the back-to-school period.
Kuo’s reasoning stems from the fact that Apple’s growth potential, which thrived during the pandemic when remote work was the norm, has diminished. With the world gradually returning to normal, Mac and iPad sales have fallen below expectations.
Initial rumors hinted at an October release for the M3 MacBook, but that is no longer the case. Fortunately, Apple fans won’t have to wait too long, as Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has disclosed in his newsletter that Apple is planning to launch M3 Pro and Air models in early spring 2024.
