Amazon Music has introduced Topics, a new AI-powered feature designed to enhance podcast discovery for its users. The platform leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze podcast content and generate relevant topic tags, providing listeners with a more intuitive way to explore new audio content.

By examining podcast transcriptions and descriptions, Amazon’s algorithm identifies key themes and assigns appropriate tags. These tags, refined through a combination of AI and human curation, are displayed prominently beneath each episode. Clicking on a tag, such as “Caffeine,” “Coffee,” or “Dopamine,” as demonstrated by Amazon, generates a list of related podcasts for users to explore.

Currently, the Topics feature is available to US customers using the latest version of the Amazon Music mobile app on iOS and Android. While initially focused on top podcasts, Amazon plans to expand the feature’s reach to a broader catalog in the future.
