Amazon has just unveiled its latest Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series, marking a major upgrade in its lineup with Mini-LED technology. This is a game-changer for Fire TVs, offering a leap in picture quality, advanced gaming features, and more. Starting at $819.99, this new series aims to deliver high-end features at a competitive price, taking on bigger names like TCL and Hisense.

The Mini-LED display allows for up to 1,400 nits of brightness and as many as 1,344 local dimming zones (depending on size). These specs enhance contrast and minimize blooming, giving you deeper blacks and richer colors, especially with HDR formats like Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. While this isn’t quite as bright as some competitors like TCL’s QM8 (up to 5,000 nits), it’s a significant upgrade for the Fire TV lineup.

Amazon introduced “Intelligent Picture,” which uses AI to analyze and optimize scenes in real-time. This feature adjusts brightness and color temperature based on the room’s lighting, making your viewing experience seamless, day or night. There’s also a new radar-based motion sensor that adds interactivity to the “Ambient Experience,” transforming idle screens into dynamic art that responds to movement.

The Omni Mini-LED Series is the first Fire TV built with serious gaming in mind. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). With a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, it’s equipped to handle the demands of modern gaming—perfect for fast-paced action or immersive open-world adventures. Wi-Fi 6E ensures smooth online gameplay and streaming.

For those with hearing aids, the new “dual audio” feature allows ASHA-enabled hearing aids to receive audio directly from the TV while others use the built-in speakers. Combined with Dolby Atmos and enhanced sound from its integrated speakers, the Omni Mini-LED delivers a cinematic audio experience.

Pricing and sizes

The series comes in four sizes:

  • 55-inch: $819.99
  • 65-inch: $1,089.99
  • 75-inch: $1,499.99
  • 85-inch: $2,099.99

To complement the Omni Mini-LED Series, Amazon launched the Fire TV Soundbar Plus, a 3.1-channel soundbar priced at $249.99. It includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, alongside a dialogue enhancer and dedicated subwoofer, making it a perfect addition for a theater-like experience.

While Amazon’s Mini-LED offering might not dethrone premium brands in terms of peak brightness, its robust features and competitive pricing make it a strong contender for those seeking an affordable yet advanced home entertainment setup.
