Adani Group will also compete with Jio and Airtel in the telecom sector. So far, Gautam Adani‘s Data Network Limited, which operates in the coal, green energy, power distribution, and aviation sectors, has got a telecom service license. Following this, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani will have direct competition in the same business for the first time.
“Adani Data Networks has got the UL (AS) license,” an official source said. Another official said the license was issued on Monday. The Adani Group has spent Rs. 212 crores during the 5G spectrum auction for nearly 20 years. Mukesh Ambani‘s Reliance has spent Rs. 88,078 crores on the 5G spectrum. At the same time, Sunil Bharti Mittal‘s company Airtel has spent Rs. 43,084 crores on this. Another big telecom company in the country, Voda-Idea, has spent Rs. 18,799 crores for 5G spectrum.
When it purchased the 5G spectrum, the company stated that it would use it for business activities within its business group. The Adani Group previously stated that it intends to use the airwaves for data centers as well as the Super App, which will help its businesses.
Let us remind you that 5G services in the country began on October 1. Airtel currently provides 5G services in eight cities. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, and Varanasi are among them. At the same time, Jio has begun 5G trials in four cities beginning with Dussehra: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi.
