Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services in India, and telecom service providers have stated that they will connect the entire country with 5G networks by March 2024. With the introduction of 5G, a new beginning of ultra-high-speed internet on mobile phones has begun.
The 5G service capable of supporting ultra-high-speed internet, is expected to open up new economic opportunities and societal benefits, serving as a transformative force in Indian society.
5G services will first be available in 13 cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Jamnagar.
Airtel has also launched 5G services in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. Airtel plans to launch 5G services in several cities across the country by March 2023, and throughout the country by March 2024.

The Prime Minister stated that his government’s vision for ‘Digital India’ is built on four pillars: device cost, digital connectivity, data cost, and a digital-first approach.
