Google is bringing its latest video generation model, Omni 1.2 Flash, to Google Vids, making it easier for users to create longer AI-generated videos without paying for a subscription. The update allows anyone with a Google account to generate up to three 15-second videos every month at no cost.

Announced on November 5, 2026, the integration replaces the previous video generation experience in Google Vids with Google’s newer Omni 1.2 Flash model. The change gives users more room to create promotional content, social media clips, explainers, and other short-form videos directly within Google’s video creation and editing tool.

Previously, AI-generated video clips were more limited in duration. With Omni 1.2 Flash, Google is extending the possibilities by allowing users to generate videos up to 15 seconds long in a single generation.

What Omni 1.2 Flash brings to Google Vids

The updated model is designed to handle several video creation tasks, including generating promotional videos, animating existing images, and producing clips with more natural-sounding speech.

One notable improvement is the ability to turn static images into videos while maintaining visual consistency. Users can upload reference images, and the model can use them to generate animated scenes with characters and environments that remain consistent throughout the clip.

This could be particularly useful for creators working with illustrated characters, educational materials, school projects, or visual storytelling. Rather than generating unrelated scenes, users can provide visual references to help guide the resulting video.

Google is also highlighting improvements to speech narration. The updated model aims to produce more natural-sounding speech, making generated clips better suited to social media content, concept explainers, and promotional videos.

Another use case is creating product promotions in a single generation. Users can produce short promotional videos without having to manually assemble multiple cuts, potentially simplifying the process for businesses and creators who need quick marketing content.

Three free AI videos every month

The most interesting part of this update is its availability. Google says anyone with a Google account or a Google Workspace subscription can generate up to three 15-second videos per month in Google Vids at no cost.

That gives users a limited but accessible way to experiment with AI video generation without committing to a paid plan. However, the three-video monthly allowance means frequent creators will still need to consider other tools or paid options if they require a larger volume of generated content.

Users can access the updated experience through Google Vids, Google’s browser-based video creation and editing platform.

With Omni 1.2 Flash, Google is making AI video generation more accessible while giving Google Vids users longer clips, more consistent visuals, and improved narration. The monthly free allowance is relatively small, but 15-second generations could be enough for short promotional videos, social media content, and quick creative experiments.
