Meta One is here with expanded AI access

If “Meta One” sounds familiar, there’s a very obvious reason: Apple One exists.

Meta has officially entered the subscription-bundle game with a product called Meta One. If your brain immediately went, “Wait… Apple One?” — congratulations, your brain is working exactly as expected.

Announced on September 15, Meta One brings together paid features for Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI under one subscription brand. The service is designed to give users more AI usage and creative tools, while creators and businesses get additional features for managing their audiences and customers.

The name is probably the first thing people will notice. Apple has been selling its Apple One bundle since 2020, combining services such as Apple Music, Apple TV and iCloud+ under one subscription. Meta One isn’t the same kind of entertainment-and-services bundle, but the naming resemblance is… let’s say, difficult to ignore.

The difference is what Meta is actually bundling.

Meta One builds on the individual subscriptions Meta introduced earlier this year, including Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus. Instead of subscribing to those services separately, individual users can choose Meta One bundles that combine their features with additional access to Meta’s more demanding AI capabilities.

The Core plan costs $7.99 per month, while Premium costs $19.99 per month in the U.S. Both include the features from Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus, with the main difference being how much access users receive to Meta’s AI-powered tools.

That includes generating and editing images with Meta AI, creating videos powered by Meta’s Muse models and using features such as Instagram’s Restyle more frequently. Meta says Meta AI itself will remain free for everyday use, with the paid plans aimed at people who want more extensive access.

There are also cheaper standalone subscriptions if you only want one app. Instagram Plus costs $3.99 per month, Facebook Plus costs $3.99, and WhatsApp Plus costs $2.99. Meta One therefore isn’t replacing those individual subscriptions; it’s adding bundled options on top.

And then things get considerably more serious.

Meta is offering separate Meta One plans for creators and businesses, starting at $14.99 per month and reaching as high as $499 per month for the Max tier. These plans add professional tools such as enhanced profiles, analytics, publishing features, additional access to Meta Business Agent and, depending on the plan, verification and impersonation protection.

  • Meta One Expert and Max subscription plans showing advanced business tools and support

The higher business tiers are clearly aimed at organizations that practically live inside Meta’s ecosystem. The Advanced plan, for example, adds features such as scheduling Stories up to 30 days in advance, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and additional team-management capabilities.

Meta says the service is launching globally and already has more than 15 million subscriptions and trials from the phased rollout of its earlier individual subscriptions. The company says Meta One currently includes more than 50 features and will expand to products including Edits and its AI glasses over time.

That expansion is arguably the more interesting part of Meta One.

The company isn’t simply selling premium Instagram features. It’s trying to turn its enormous collection of apps and AI products into one subscription ecosystem. Today that means Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. Tomorrow, Meta says, it could include more of its hardware and creative software.

It is also another sign that Meta sees AI as something that can eventually be monetized directly rather than simply being used to improve its advertising business or make its apps more engaging. Reuters reports that Meta is using the subscriptions to offer enhanced AI capabilities while keeping its basic services free.

And honestly, the whole thing creates a pretty funny subscription-family tree.

Apple has Apple One.

Meta now has Meta One.

At this rate, somebody is going to announce “Company One” and just throw every app they own into a monthly bill.

Jokes aside, Meta is making an important distinction: the regular versions of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI aren’t suddenly becoming paid services. Meta says their core experiences will remain free, while Meta One is intended for users who want additional features, more AI usage or professional tools.

For casual users, that means there is still no immediate reason to subscribe. But for heavy Instagram users, AI power users, creators and businesses already spending much of their day inside Meta’s ecosystem, the company is clearly betting that paying for a larger set of capabilities will eventually make sense.

Whether people embrace another monthly subscription is a different question.

Because apparently, in 2026, the real challenge isn’t finding an app.

It’s remembering which subscription unlocks the button you just tried to press.
