Apple fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of a 15-inch MacBook Air for years, and it seems the wait may finally be over. Developer logs suggest that Apple has been testing the long-rumored device, which will reportedly feature a processor on par with the company’s current M2 chip.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has been testing the 15-inch MacBook Air to ensure its compatibility with third-party App Store apps, a standard procedure before the release of any new device. The logs show that the machine was configured with an eight-core CPU and 10-core GPU, along with 8GB of RAM. These specifications suggest that the new MacBook Air will ship with an M2 chipset, rather than the next-generation M3 chip that some reports had suggested.

While the logs provide some insight into the new laptop’s technical specifications, the most interesting detail is its display resolution. The 15-inch MacBook Air will reportedly feature a display resolution that is equal to that of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, which means it will have a less dense display. It remains unclear when Apple plans to release the new laptop, but Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman previously reported that it would arrive sometime between late spring and this summer.

It’s worth noting that the 15-inch MacBook Air has been the subject of rumors for years, with many Apple fans hoping for a larger version of the popular laptop. The MacBook Air has long been a favorite among developers, thanks to its lightweight design and long battery life. With the new M2 chipset, the 15-inch MacBook Air is expected to offer even better performance and efficiency.

Apple has been making some major changes to its lineup in recent years, with the introduction of its own custom-designed chips and the transition away from Intel processors. The company has also been experimenting with new form factors, such as the recent release of the 14-inch MacBook Pro. The arrival of a 15-inch MacBook Air would be another significant addition to Apple’s product lineup and could attract a wide range of users, from developers to creative professionals.

As with any new Apple product, there is always a level of excitement and anticipation among fans. The 15-inch MacBook Air has been a long time coming, and the recent developer logs suggest that its arrival is imminent. While there are still many unknowns about the new laptop, one thing is certain: it is sure to be a major player in the world of laptops and an exciting addition to Apple’s lineup.
