Walmart today slashed the price of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in Red/Black to an incredible $85. This marks a remarkable discount of nearly 40% from its original $140 retail price, making it the most affordable Elite controller deal to date.

  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core (Red/Black) — $85.17 at Walmart / $82 at Amazon / $114 at Microsoft Store
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core (White/Black) — $105 at Walmart / Amazon / Microsoft Store
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core (Blue/Black) — $125 Walmart / Amazon

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core boasts the same top-tier features as its pricier counterpart, the older generation Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, which typically retails for a heftier $180. Gamers can still revel in the integrated professional-grade perks, such as customizable thumbstick tension, a comfortable wrap-around rubberized grip, and quick-trigger locks. In comparison to the standard Xbox Core controller bundled with current-gen consoles, the Elite Series 2 Core stands out as a superior option.

The primary difference between the two controllers, apart from the color scheme, is the accessories. The original Elite controller comes packed with extra sets of paddles, thumbsticks, a D-pad, and a convenient travel case. Meanwhile, the Elite Series 2 Core doesn’t include these extras. However, here’s the good news: all these accessories are fully compatible with the Elite Series 2 Core, and they can be purchased separately in a component pack for just $60.
