For Xbox gamers, the days of juggling multiple platforms to stay connected with friends are slowly coming to an end. The latest update to the Xbox-Discord integration is a game-changer, promising to transform the way we interact and experience gaming together.
Soon, Xbox users will have the ability to effortlessly watch their friends’ gameplay streams, regardless of whether their buddies are playing on PC, mobile, or another Xbox. This means you can tune into a friend’s epic gaming session without leaving the comfort of your console.

To kick things off, Xbox Insiders are the lucky few who get to test out this feature first. Look for it within Discord voice calls or the “happening now” Friends section on your Xbox dashboard. The integration is designed to be seamless, allowing you to control volume and mute the stream directly from your Xbox.

Microsoft and Discord are also making it easier to connect with friends on the platform. Direct calls between friends are on the horizon, eliminating the need to join a Discord server just to chat. Additionally, you’ll soon be able to see mutual servers, friends, and Xbox gamertags directly within the Xbox interface, streamlining the overall experience.
It’s worth noting that Sony has also made strides in its Discord integration for PS5, allowing users to join voice calls directly from the console. However, the PlayStation platform is still lagging behind in terms of streaming and viewing features.
