Windows 11 is getting a small but genuinely useful addition: Energy Recommendations are now appearing directly in Quick Settings.
Microsoft is testing the change with Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel as part of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26340.9577. The idea is pretty straightforward: instead of making you dig through Settings to find ways to reduce energy consumption, Windows can surface Energy Recommendations right where you already go to adjust everyday system settings.
And honestly, I just loved it.
There’s something wonderfully practical about Microsoft putting energy-saving suggestions one click away rather than hiding them somewhere inside the Power & battery settings page. The recommendations are designed to make it easier to take actions that can reduce energy consumption and improve the device’s sustainability, according to Microsoft.

It’s not exactly the kind of Windows feature that makes you want to throw a party. But it is one of those little quality-of-life changes that makes the operating system feel more thoughtful.
The feature is being gradually rolled out to Windows Insiders, so it may not appear for everyone immediately. And, as with other Experimental-channel features, Microsoft notes that some of these experiences can change, disappear, or never make it into a public Windows release.
