Western Digital (WD) and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) yesterday teamed up to launch the gaming industry’s first official licensed WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD for PS5 consoles to gamers worldwide.
Players now expand the high-speed storage capacity of their PS5 consoles with the WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD, which was created for PS5 consoles. This allows players to save their games on a drive that has been fully tested to withstand the most demanding PS5 gameplay.
To ensure that it performs in line with the PS5, Western Digital has verified its performance for a number of scenarios. To ensure that the gaming is fast, smooth, and visually immersive with games stored on the drive, hundreds of hours of thorough testing were put into the most graphically intense games across a variety of genres.
Gamers can save and play PS5 and PS4 games directly from the WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD for PS5. The SSD’s all-in-one design combines a heatsink that speeds up installation. Additionally, PCIe Gen4 technology, which achieves read speeds of up to 7000MB/s, helps gamers reduce lengthy load times.
The WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD for PS5 retails in the United States for $169.99 for 1TB and $279.99 for 2TB model while in the UK for £179.99 for 1TB and £289.99 for 2TB and is now available from the Western Digital and Best Buy online store (US retailers). It will be available from other retailers, and resellers starting mid-August 2022.
