Apple Card users are getting a new limited‑time boost at Walgreens, and it’s an easy win if you’re already tapping to pay with your iPhone.
Now through May 20, Apple is offering a total of 5% Daily Cash on purchases at Walgreens and Duane Reade when you use Apple Card with Apple Pay, both in stores and online or in the Walgreens app. The promo is capped at $500 in spend, which means you can earn up to $25 in Daily Cash from this offer before it drops back to the standard 3% Walgreens rate. Apple splits this as the usual 3% category plus a 2% bonus, and the bonus can’t stack with any other Apple Card promotions running at the same time.
Practically, this is Apple nudging cardholders to funnel more everyday spending through Apple Pay on things like prescriptions, vitamins, snacks, and basic groceries at Walgreens. Walgreens has been a long‑time 3% partner for Apple Card, but this bump to 5% turns a routine pharmacy run into one of the better cash‑back plays on Apple’s card right now, especially if you’re trying to stretch your budget on essentials. Just keep in mind there are some fine print carve‑outs: transactions where Apple Pay isn’t offered (like drive‑thru orders or some online multi‑item carts), gift cards, and purchases from third‑party kiosks inside the store don’t qualify.
There’s also a nice side benefit once the promo ends: Walgreens and Duane Reade remain in the permanent 3% Daily Cash club when you use Apple Card with Apple Pay, alongside names like Nike, Uber, and Ace Hardware. Everyday spend at those merchants still earns more than the default 2% you get with Apple Pay elsewhere, and way more than the 1% that comes with swiping the physical titanium card. For regular Walgreens shoppers who already live in the Apple ecosystem, setting Apple Card as the default card in Wallet and routing pharmacy and household top‑ups through Apple Pay is an easy “set it and forget it” way to farm extra Daily Cash.
