Verizon is making a big splash in the streaming wars with two exciting announcements. Starting May 30th, they’re offering a discounted subscription to YouTube Premium for their myPlan customers. They’re also expanding their streaming library with the addition of Peacock coming to their digital hub on June 5th.
For those already subscribed to Verizon’s myPlan, rejoice! You can now enjoy YouTube Premium for only $10 a month, a sweet 30% discount off the regular price of $13.99. This premium service unlocks a world of ad-free viewing on YouTube, the ability to download videos for offline watching, and access to YouTube Music Premium, a music streaming service that rivals Spotify and Apple Music.
If you haven’t explored myPlan yet, it might be worth considering. This flexible plan allows you to bundle your phone service with various streaming services like Disney Plus and Apple One, giving you a one-stop shop for entertainment.
Mark your calendars for June 5th, because Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, is landing on Verizon’s Plus Play platform. Plus Play acts as a central hub where you can sign up for and manage subscriptions to various streaming services like Netflix, Max (formerly HBO Max), and Paramount Plus, all in one convenient location. Peacock will be available in two tiers: Premium for $5.99/month and Premium Plus for $11.99/month. Be aware though, that both these plans are scheduled for a price increase in July.
In addition to the streaming deals, Verizon also announced a new perk for their Unlimited Ultimate plan subscribers. With the Unlimited Phone Upgrade option, you can trade in your old phone, regardless of its condition, and get the best possible deal on a new device. Unlimited Ultimate plans range from $100 per month for a single line to as low as $55 per line for those with four lines and auto-pay enabled.
