A better customer experience through hardware is an essential aspect of Tesla‘s technical approach, as these cars have computers with specifications comparable to a mid-high-end PC, and they don’t ask for anything from an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 in terms of the console. As a result, when it comes to Tesla vehicles, the usage of a specific type of CPU is an issue, and a major adjustment was just announced for a few models.

According to Teslascope’s tweet, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles will undergo significant changes beginning in 2022, with AMD Ryzen processors replacing the Intel Atom A3950 processor. This is an important distinction to note because the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles used the Intel Atom A3950 processor until 2021.

This AMD Ryzen CPU, whose specifications have not been revealed, will be in charge of operating the infotainment system in these vehicles, which includes the ability to play video games.

The use of AMD CPUs in the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, on the other hand, is part of a new expansion strategy, as these models were originally built for the European market, but will do so in the United States starting in 2022.

While we’re on the subject of Tesla vehicles, it’s worth noting that US regulators pushed the business to change the availability of the video game experience so that it’s not active while the vehicle is moving. A driver also chose to protest the corporation and Elon Musk after learning the cost of a new battery and the procedure of repairing his vehicle, which ended up being inoperable and on the point of exploding.
