Tesla China launched a new promotional offer for Chinese customers where they will get a 50% discount on the FSD (Full Self-Driving) package when they upgrade their car.

Owners of existing Tesla vehicles, whether or not they have FSD installed, may take advantage of this offer from now through September 30, 2022, as part of Tesla’s Ownership Loyalty Program.

Tesla China offers two loyalty bonuses in addition to the FSD package’s 50% discount (Chinese customers will save 32,000 yuan, USD conversion: $4,732.19 as of Aug. 6, 2022, at 6:40 pm IST), including free home charging services (worth 8,000 yuan, USD conversion: $1,183 as of Aug. 6, 2022, at 6:40 pm IST) and 15,000 km of free Supercharging.

Drive Tesla notes that the new discount was offered as a response to issues over Tesla China’s difficulty to transfer FSD packages to new vehicles.

Due to the fact that there are other Chinese automakers producing competent EVs for the market, Tesla faces competition in China.

Tesla may wish to use a similar incentive to encourage early adopters to stick with Tesla as European and North American automakers surpass Tesla in terms of EVs.
