Pop megastar Taylor Swift is bringing her record-breaking Eras Tour to homes everywhere through an exclusive new deal with Disney+.
Disney announced that “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” will debut on the streaming platform on March 15th. This marks the first time the full concert experience will be available to fans, including several acoustic performances of fan favorites like “Cardigan” that were not included in the theatrical run or video-on-demand release.
Originally premiered in theaters late last year, Swift’s Eras Tour grossed an astounding $260 million globally, cementing its status as the highest-grossing concert film ever. While the 4K version lacks high dynamic range (HDR), the visuals and performances still stunned critics and Swifties alike.
The timing coincides nicely with Swift’s just-announced new album, The Tortured Poets Department, set for an April drop. Speculation abounds whether Swift will incorporate new material from that album into upcoming tour dates, adding yet another era to what has already been a multi-era spectacular.
With many dates long sold out, the Disney+ deal offers fans who missed getting tickets a chance to experience the magic. For the reasonable price of a streaming subscription, viewers can now have a front row seat from their living room couches to the hottest concert of 2023 – no Ticketmaster crashes required.
