Atlanta commuters can now add MARTA Breeze card to Samsung Wallet

If you ride MARTA in Atlanta, you no longer need to carry a physical Breeze card - Samsung Wallet now handles it for you.

Samsung Wallet just leveled up for Atlanta commuters. Samsung announced on May 1, 2026, that Samsung Wallet now officially supports the MARTA Breeze card – meaning Galaxy smartphone users in the Atlanta metro area can ditch the physical card and tap their way through faregates straight from their phone.

This is a big deal for everyday riders. The Breeze card is the backbone of transit in Metro Atlanta, accepted across MARTA’s train and bus network as well as regional services like CobbLinc, Ride Gwinnett, Connect Douglas, and ATL Xpress. All of those regional passes can now be added directly to Samsung Wallet too – not just the standard Breeze card.

The timing also lines up perfectly with MARTA’s own transit upgrade push. The agency formally rolled out its “Better Breeze” fare system on May 2, 2026, modernizing how riders pay across the entire network and moving toward more digital-first options at faregates and bus validators. Samsung Wallet’s integration slots right into that momentum.

Getting set up is pretty straightforward. You open Samsung Wallet, head to All > Transit > Add Transit, search for “Breeze,” and either issue a brand-new digital card or transfer your existing physical card over. If you already have a physical Breeze card, you don’t lose it – you just digitize it. From there, topping up your balance is just a few taps away using any credit or debit card already saved in Samsung Wallet.

When it comes to actually riding, you don’t even need to unlock your phone. Just tap your Galaxy device on the faregate or the orange bus validator and you’re good to go – a feature Samsung calls Fast Mode. The wallet also keeps everything organized, showing your card number, remaining balance, and full transaction history so you always know where your transit money is going.

There is one thing to keep in mind: you do need to purchase the MARTA Breeze card within Samsung Wallet for the integration to work. Your device needs to be a Samsung Wallet-compatible Galaxy phone running Android S or higher, with Samsung Wallet version 6.4.81 or above, and a Samsung account. So make sure your apps are up to date before heading to the station.
