Leaked images of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 have surfaced, offering a glimpse into the phone’s design and a potential major camera upgrade.
Evan Blass, a reputable tech leaker, shared four official-looking renders of the Z Flip6. While the focus is primarily on the unfolded outer display, the images provide some intriguing details about the phone’s interior as well.
The most exciting revelation comes from a render showcasing the camera app. A subtle “2x” icon in the corner of the cover display hints at the possibility of zoom functionality. This aligns with previous rumors suggesting the Z Flip6 might boast a significant camera improvement – a bump from the 12MP sensor on the Z Flip5 to a whopping 50MP one.
While the Z Flip6 is unlikely to feature a dedicated telephoto lens, the high-resolution main camera could enable lossless in-sensor zoom technology, similar to what’s seen on the Galaxy S24.
The other leaked renders depict familiar features on the cover display, including camera, alarm, health, weather, sleep, and photo widgets – all introduced with the Z Flip5 for convenient access. There’s also a subtle nod to the new generation, with a wallpaper featuring a barely-there number “6.”
Shifting our attention to the phone’s frame, we see a sleek blue color, one of four rumored options for the Z Flip6. Three additional colors are expected to be exclusive to the Samsung store. The camera housing appears to match the frame color, another subtle design tweak that sets the Z Flip6 apart from its predecessor.
All signs point towards an official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip6 at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 10th. While the foldable phone is sure to be a highlight, Samsung is also expected to showcase a plethora of other devices, including the Z Flip6’s foldable sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold6.
The event might also see the debut of the much-anticipated Galaxy Ring wearable, which has been generating buzz since the beginning of the year. Rounding out the potential announcements are the Galaxy Watch7, a premium Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the new Galaxy Buds 3 earbuds.
