Leaked renders by OnLeaks and Smartprix offer a glimpse of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 “Ultra,” and it’s looking like a significant departure from previous models.

This new smartwatch seems to be the successor to the metal-bodied Classic series, but with a major twist – it adopts a squarish design reminiscent of the Apple Watch Ultra. The leaked images showcase a watch with a round display encased within a pronounced square-shaped bezel. While the functionality of this bezel remains unclear from the pictures, it could potentially offer touch or rotational controls.

Remember those rumors about square Samsung watches that surfaced earlier this year? It seems there might have been some truth to them after all. However, the Watch 7 Ultra doesn’t completely abandon the classic circular screen.

The overall look of the Watch 7 Ultra suggests a substantial device. This aligns with previous whispers about Samsung developing a larger “Pro” watch model.

Beyond the size and design changes, the leaks hint at exciting new features packed into this upcoming smartwatch. The addition of a third button has sparked speculation that it might serve a similar purpose as the Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button, offering quick access to specific functionalities.

The health-conscious crowd will be happy to hear rumors of a new health sensor array. Bigger speaker grilles also suggest improved audio quality, possibly complemented by additional microphone holes for enhanced speakerphone clarity.

While the official release date remains under wraps, rumors point towards a potential unveiling at the next Samsung Unpacked event, speculated to be held on June 10th in Paris. This event could be a treasure trove for tech enthusiasts, potentially showcasing not only the new watches but also the sixth generation of Samsung’s foldable phones and a mysterious new “Galaxy Ring.”
