As we edge closer to the end of January, tech enthusiasts and Samsung fans are gearing up for what could be one of the most anticipated smartphone events of 2025. Samsung has set the stage for its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, scheduled for Wednesday, January 22. Here’s everything you need to know about how to tune in and what to expect.

What to expect

While Samsung keeps the official details under wraps until the big reveal, leaks, and industry patterns give us a pretty good idea of what’s coming:

  • Galaxy S25 series: Expect to see the Galaxy S25, S25+, and the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra. These devices are rumored to come with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering top-notch performance. Design-wise, there’s talk of a slimmer profile, possibly rounded edges on the Ultra model, and new color options to choose from.
  • One UI 7: Samsung has teased enhancements to its operating system. One UI 7 was announced in late 2024 at a developer conference, promising a more intuitive and fluid user experience. This update could introduce new features or refine existing ones to better integrate with the hardware of the new S25 series.
  • Galaxy AI: Samsung has been pushing AI integration with its devices, and this Unpacked event will likely showcase how the new Galaxy AI will enhance user interaction with their phones, offering features like smarter Bixby, advanced photo editing, or real-time translation.
  • Other potential reveals: There’s a whisper of additional products or teasers. The Galaxy Ring 2 might see an expansion in sizes, and Project Moohan, Samsung’s venture into augmented reality with Google’s Android XR platform, could get some spotlight.

Here’s how to watch the Samsung Galaxy S25 event live on January 22

The event kicks off at 1 pm Eastern Time (ET), which is 10 am Pacific Time (PT), taking place in San Jose, California. Here’s where you can catch the live stream:

  • Samsung.com: The official Samsung website will host a live stream of the event.
  • Samsung Newsroom: For those interested in more detailed breakdowns, the Samsung Newsroom might offer additional insights or live blogs.
  • YouTube: Samsung will also livestream the event on its YouTube channel, which is perhaps the most accessible option for most viewers.
