Samsung has announced the expansion of its Galaxy Ring lineup with the inclusion of two new sizes, 14 and 15. This announcement, made on January 13, 2025, confirms long-standing rumors and aims to make the Galaxy Ring accessible to a wider audience.

Starting January 22, 2025, consumers will have the option to choose from a range that now extends from size five to fifteen, although Samsung has noted that both size and color availability might differ depending on the market. This strategic expansion is seen as an attempt to keep pace with competitors like Oura, which has offered its smart ring in a similar size range (from size four to fifteen) for some time now.

While specifics like exact weights or battery life for these new sizes were not detailed in the announcement, insights from the existing Galaxy Ring models provide some clues. The larger sizes 12 and 13 in the current lineup are known to house bigger batteries, offering users an additional day of usage compared to smaller sizes. It’s plausible to expect that the new sizes might follow suit, providing enhanced battery life for those with larger fingers or preferences for a looser fit.

But the size expansion is not the only news from Samsung. The company has also declared its intention to launch the Galaxy Ring in 16 additional countries, extending its global footprint. Countries like Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Greece, and South Africa are slated to receive the smart ring from February 7, 2025, with the caveat that specific launch dates might vary by region.

The Galaxy Ring, since its introduction, has been positioned as more than just a piece of jewelry. It integrates with Samsung’s Health app, offering users detailed insights into sleep patterns, activity levels, and other health metrics without the bulk or screen of traditional smartwatches. The ring’s design is sleek, made from scratch-resistant titanium, available in various finishes like Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold, making it both a functional health tool and a stylish accessory.

For those considering jumping on the smart ring bandwagon, this expansion means better chances of finding a snug fit, and for Samsung enthusiasts or those invested in the Samsung ecosystem, it’s another piece of tech that promises to integrate seamlessly with other Samsung devices, enhancing the overall health tracking experience.
