Remember that Google‘s Chromebook Plus brand is basically a guarantee of quality. Think high-end processors, top-notch webcams, and all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a premium Chromebook. We’ve seen plenty of Chromebook Plus models from brands like ASUS, Acer, and Lenovo, but there’s one big name that’s been missing from the party: Samsung.
The last time Samsung launched a premium Chromebook was back in 2021 with the Galaxy Chromebook 2. However, according to some industry listings spotted by Chrome Unboxed, that drought might be coming to an end. We could be seeing the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus as soon as next week! This would mark Samsung’s first “Plus” model and their first Galaxy-branded Chromebook in a few years.
Google is hosting a Chromebook-focused event in New York City on Tuesday, September 24. While nothing is confirmed yet, it seems like a prime opportunity to unveil this new Samsung Chromebook.

We’ve been hearing rumors about this Chromebook for a while now, under the codename “Xol.” It’s expected to be a standard clamshell-style laptop with high-end specs and an “assistant key” that’s likely tied to Google’s Gemini AI. Given Google’s focus on AI in recent years, it’s a safe bet that a good chunk of the event will be dedicated to Gemini-powered features coming to Chromebooks.
