The new leak suggests that Quake 2 Remastered might soon be available on Xbox Game Pass. If rumors are to be believed, this beloved classic from id Software/Bethesda/ZeniMax Media could potentially join the gaming service as part of a shadow drop during the upcoming QuakeCon 2023 event. Microsoft‘s acquisition of ZeniMax Media and its subsidiaries, which includes id Software, was partly driven by the desire to expand the Xbox Game Pass library with iconic titles like Quake 2 Remastered.

QuakeCon, an annual convention primarily dedicated to the legendary Quake franchise, has long been known for its thrilling surprise announcements. Fans fondly remember a couple of years ago when the first Quake was unexpectedly released in a remastered version during the event. Now, the gaming world is eagerly anticipating a similar surprise with the potential reveal of Quake 2 Remastered at QuakeCon 2023. The event, scheduled from August 10 to 13, 2023, has gaming enthusiasts eagerly keeping their eyes peeled for any official confirmation of this exciting news.

Quake 2 holds a special place in the hearts of gamers worldwide and is often hailed as one of the best first-person shooter games ever created. Originally released in 1997, the game quickly gained a massive following for its fast-paced action, innovative multiplayer modes, and unforgettable level design. A remastered version of this iconic title promises to reignite nostalgia for veteran players while captivating a new generation of gamers.

If the leak turns out to be true, the potential addition of Quake 2 Remastered to Xbox Game Pass could be a game-changer. Microsoft’s subscription-based gaming service has been a resounding success, offering an extensive library of games to its subscribers. By bringing Quake 2 Remastered to the platform, Xbox Game Pass could attract a broader audience eager to explore gaming classics they might have missed out on. For many, this could be the perfect opportunity to experience the thrills of Quake 2 in all its remastered glory.

For Xbox Game Pass subscribers considering embarking on this remastered adventure, there’s even more reason to be excited. Quake 2‘s campaign includes co-op support, allowing players to team up with friends for an unforgettable gaming experience. Additionally, the remastered version is expected to retain the thrilling multiplayer modes that made the original a multiplayer gaming paradise. From intense deathmatches to cooperative missions, Quake 2 Remastered promises to offer an array of multiplayer options for gamers to enjoy with their friends.
