Porsche is simplifying the way buyers equip the all-electric Macan for the 2027 model year, bundling a long list of popular comfort, technology and chassis options into a new Advanced Package. It is a practical move for a vehicle that can become very expensive very quickly once buyers begin ticking individual boxes.

The Advanced Package is available on the entry-level Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S, and it is designed less as a flashy new trim level than as a shortcut to a more complete, premium-feeling vehicle. Porsche has taken features that many customers already choose separately – the panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlights, 14-way power comfort seats, black leather upholstery, Bose surround sound, adaptive air suspension and Power Steering Plus – and placed them behind one option-package decision.

That approach matters because the electric Macan is not intended to be a stripped-down entry point into Porsche ownership. It is a high-end electric SUV built around driving feel, performance and an increasingly digital cabin experience. Yet, as with most Porsche models, its base specification has traditionally left plenty of room for personalization. The new package acknowledges that many buyers want the desirable equipment without having to navigate a lengthy options list feature by feature.

The package also includes auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors, an exterior color from Porsche’s Shades or Contrasts palettes, and adaptive air suspension with ride-height adjustment and Porsche Active Suspension Management, or PASM. In other words, it combines the parts that affect daily comfort with the ones that subtly change how the SUV looks and drives.

Porsche says the bundle can save buyers up to 45 percent compared with selecting the included options individually, depending on the model. In Germany, it is priced at 5,990.46 euros for the Macan and Macan 4, and 5,299.07 euros for the Macan 4S, including VAT. Porsche has not provided US pricing in this announcement, so American availability and pricing may differ when the package reaches local configurators.

There is a strategic logic behind making air suspension part of the bundle. For a brand whose reputation rests heavily on how its cars behave on the road, adaptive suspension is not merely a luxury feature. It helps the Macan balance conflicting demands: a more settled ride during a highway commute, greater composure on uneven pavement, and a firmer, more controlled character when the driver is in the mood to push harder through corners. The inclusion of Power Steering Plus reinforces that everyday usability angle by reducing steering effort at lower speeds.

The headline package is only part of Porsche’s model-year update. The company is also expanding the Macan’s standard driver-assistance equipment, adding adaptive cruise control and Automated Parking with 2D Surround View. The parking system can identify spaces alongside or ahead of the vehicle, then handle parallel and perpendicular parking maneuvers, as well as exiting parallel spaces.

That is an especially relevant upgrade for the Macan, which is marketed as a sporty SUV but will spend much of its life doing ordinary SUV work: crowded parking lots, city streets, school runs and tight garages. Porsche is also keeping more advanced parking features, including smartphone-controlled Remote Park Assist, on the options list.

The cabin gets a smaller but welcome improvement, too. The wireless charging compartment in the center console now supports up to 25 watts, up from 15 watts previously. In an era when a phone is often used for navigation, music, messaging and charging-station apps at the same time, that extra power is not a trivial quality-of-life upgrade.

Charging hardware is another area where Porsche is quietly widening the distinction between its performance-focused models and the rest of the lineup. The Macan GTS and Macan Turbo now receive a 22kW onboard AC charger as standard. That can substantially cut charging time at compatible public AC chargers or home and workplace wallboxes, though the real-world benefit depends on having access to a 22kW-capable supply.

The Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S retain an 11kW maximum AC charging rate as standard, with the 22kW charger available as an option. All versions can DC fast-charge at up to 270kW, according to Porsche. For owners who mainly rely on rapid-charging stations during long trips, that DC figure remains the more important one; for those with access to high-power AC charging at home or work, the upgraded onboard charger could make day-to-day ownership more convenient.

What makes this update notable is that Porsche is not trying to reinvent the Macan. Instead, it is addressing the small decisions that shape an owner’s experience after the excitement of the purchase wears off. Better standard assistance systems, faster phone charging, stronger AC charging on the top models, and a more rational way to order desirable equipment may not make for a dramatic facelift. But they make the electric Macan easier to live with – and potentially easier for dealers to sell.

For Porsche, that is probably the point. The Advanced Package turns a complicated menu of premium extras into a single, more understandable proposition: choose it, and the Macan arrives with much of the equipment buyers are likely to want anyway.
