Peugeot showcases Inception concept electric vehicle at CES 2023

Peugeot has given us a glimpse into the future of electric vehicles with the unveiling of its latest concept car at CES 2023. Dubbed the “Inception,” this sleek sedan boasts a cutting-edge design, featuring sharp lines and panoramic windows that wrap around the middle of the car. Its body shade is made up of ultra-fine metal pigments, and the front bumper is adorned with the brand’s iconic three claws.

But it’s not just about looks. The Inception is built on one of Stellantis’ four future BEV-by-design platforms, specifically designed for low sedans. Its 800-volt, 100kWh battery technology allows it to travel an impressive 497 miles on a single charge, and it can even be recharged using induction, eliminating the need for cables.

In terms of performance, the Inception is powered by two electric motors that generate a combined 680 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100kph (0-62mph) in under three seconds. With its advanced technology, the Peugeot Inception is sure to make a splash in the world of electric vehicles.

The Peugeot Inception concept car not only gives us a glimpse into the future of electric vehicles but also introduces us to the brand’s next-generation cockpit. Gone is the traditional steering wheel, replaced by the “Hypersquare,” a rectangular wheel that comes with a tablet-like screen in the center. This screen displays all the necessary information, while the circular recesses at each corner can be programmed to control certain aspects of the car, allowing drivers to easily access them with their thumbs while keeping their hands on the wheel.

Peugeot plans to draw inspiration from Inception for its future electric vehicles, including its most compact models. We can expect to see the first cars based on this design as soon as 2025. It’s clear that the Peugeot Inception is pushing the boundaries of what we can expect from the future of transportation.
