OnLogic, a Vermont-based industrial computer hardware maker and IoT supplier, has revealed its future Karbon 800 series of rugged computers, following the announcement of the 12th-generation Intel Core processors at CES 2022 in Las Vegas.

The computers have been engineered for machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), manufacturing, automation, and other Industry 4.0 and industrial IoT applications.

We have been amazed by what our customers have created using our Karbon 700 series and, with the large performance upgrades provided by Intel’s Alder Lake architecture, the Karbon 800 series will give them the power to continue to innovate,” said OnLogic rugged line product manager, Maxx Garrison. “We’ve focused on adding additional features and expansion options to support the wide-ranging applications of our customers. This includes PCIe Gen 4 expansion for the latest GPUs, new IO options like 10GbE and M12 LAN, and new configurations including a high-capacity Raid array option. The Karbon 800 series will be our highest-performance and most configurable systems yet.”

At the debut, the Karbon 800 will be available in four configurations, allowing users to pick and choose which system best suits their needs. Up to a 16-core Intel Core i9 processor and 64GB of DDR4 ECC or non-ECC memory can be added to each model.

Various storage and expansion options, including optional hot-swap bays and single and twin PCIe Gen 4 slots, are available depending on the model. ModBay expansion technology from OnLogic can add up to 14x LAN ports and a 6x 2.5in SSD Raid array, as well as other connection and storage options.

The Karbon 800 is scheduled to be on sale in early spring 2022, and customers on the OnLogic website can sign up to be notified when it is available.
