Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has entered the portable audio market with the launch of the CMF Speaker S and CMF Speaker M, its first portable Bluetooth speakers. Announced on October 12, 2026, the new lineup combines distinctive, customizable designs with wireless connectivity, water and dust resistance, and up to 18 hours of battery life. Prices start at $59 for the smaller Speaker S, while the larger Speaker M costs $109.

The two speakers bring CMF’s colorful design approach to a new product category, with removable components, physical playback controls, and features designed for both individual listening and group playback.

CMF Speaker S and Speaker M bring distinctive designs to portable audio

The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M feature geometric bodies with a distinctive, milk-carton-like appearance. Both models are available in White, Dark Grey, Orange, and Turquoise, giving buyers several color options.

CMF has also made personalization a central part of the design. The speakers feature removable front panels and control knobs that users can swap out for alternative designs. The company also plans to release design files for 3D printing, opening the door for owners to create their own custom components.

The smaller Speaker S is designed for portability, with a compact body and a loop for hanging or attaching it to a suitable strap or carabiner. The larger Speaker M features an integrated handle, making it easier to carry between rooms or take to gatherings.

  • Four CMF Speaker S units in white, orange, dark grey, and teal arranged together with "cmf" branding and accent knobs.
  • Four milk-carton-shaped CMF Speaker S units lined up diagonally in teal, black, white, and orange with "cmf" logo.
  • Four dual-driver CMF Speaker M units with carry handles leaning in teal, orange, white, and dark grey with "cmf" logo.

A multifunction physical knob handles playback and volume controls, allowing users to operate the speakers without reaching for their phones.

CMF Speaker S focuses on compact, portable sound

The CMF Speaker S uses a 45mm full-range driver paired with two passive radiators to enhance low-frequency output. The speaker delivers up to 10W RMS audio output, with a stated frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz.

CMF has also incorporated adaptive audio tuning to adjust playback according to listening conditions. Users can further customize the sound through the Nothing X app, which includes Ultra Bass and Wide Soundstage modes alongside four equalizer presets.

At 334 grams, the Speaker S is the lighter option in the lineup. It includes a 2,600mAh battery, and CMF rates it for up to 18 hours of playback under its specified test conditions.

CMF Speaker M adds a dedicated woofer and tweeter

The larger CMF Speaker M steps up the audio hardware with a dedicated 70mm woofer rated at 25W RMS and a 16mm tweeter rated at 10W RMS, delivering a combined output of 35W RMS.

The two-driver arrangement is designed to provide deeper bass and better separation between vocals and other instruments. Its stated frequency response extends from 60Hz to 20kHz.

The Speaker M also includes a 4,900mAh battery, with CMF claiming up to 18 hours of playback under the same specified conditions as the smaller model. It weighs approximately 602 grams.

Both speakers support customizable equalizer settings through the Nothing X app, so users can adjust their listening experience to suit different types of content.

Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C audio, and multi-speaker playback

Connectivity is another shared feature across the CMF Speaker S and Speaker M. Both support Bluetooth 6.0, NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair for compatible devices. They can also maintain connections to two Bluetooth audio sources, making it easier to switch between devices.

For wired listening, both models support USB-C audio, including lossless digital audio playback. CMF says the connection can reduce latency to below 60 milliseconds.

The speakers also support two different multi-speaker listening modes. Stereo Mode allows users to pair two units of the same model, assigning them left and right audio channels. Speaker S and Speaker M cannot be mixed for this stereo setup.

For group listening, Auracast-based Party Mode can synchronize playback across multiple compatible speakers, including supported products from other brands.

Both models carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, adding protection for outdoor listening. Their playback controls also include a Night Mode that reduces overall output and limits maximum loudness, which may be useful when listening in quieter environments.

CMF Speaker S and Speaker M price and availability

The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M went on sale on October 12, 2026, through Nothing’s website and select retail partners.

The US prices are as follows:

  • CMF Speaker S: $59
  • CMF Speaker M: $109

Both speakers are offered in White, Dark Grey, Orange, and Turquoise. Buyers can choose the Speaker S for a lighter, more compact design or opt for the Speaker M for its higher output and dedicated woofer-and-tweeter configuration.

With its first portable speaker lineup, CMF is extending its design-focused approach beyond earbuds and headphones. The Speaker S and Speaker M combine customizable hardware, modern connectivity, and multi-speaker playback at relatively accessible prices, giving the brand a new foothold in the portable Bluetooth speaker market.
