For many users, Windows 11‘s Start menu has been a source of frustration. It lacks the functionality and ease of navigation found in previous versions of Windows, leading many to seek out third-party alternatives. But there’s good news on the horizon: Microsoft appears to be working on a significant improvement – a category view for all your apps.

This exciting feature was unearthed by PhantomOfEarth, a keen observer known for discovering hidden gems within Windows updates. While not officially announced by Microsoft, the category view was found buried in the latest Windows 11 Beta build. Although currently in a developmental stage, it offers a glimpse of a potentially game-changing addition to the Start menu.

It looks like another Start menu > All apps view option is coming soon: Category view. Present in build 22635.3930, with some not yet functional categories.

With the category view, navigating your apps becomes a breeze.
