Microsoft is testing out a useful new feature for Windows 11 – reminders for your upcoming Microsoft Teams meetings right in the Start menu. For enterprise users logged in with their work credentials, a reminder will pop up in the ‘Recommended’ section of the Start menu around 5 minutes before any scheduled Teams meeting.

Clicking on the reminder takes you right into the Teams app to join your meeting. It’s a convenient addition for busy professionals, putting your meetings front and center when you need them. The reminders display alongside recent files and other recommendations on the Start menu.

Microsoft notes this will only appear for commercial Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise users, not consumers. So if you use Teams for work, be on the lookout for this addition aimed to keep you on time.

In related news – Microsoft is also upgrading integration with Android phones. If you snap a photo or screenshot on your Android device, you’ll now get an instant notification on your paired Windows 11 PC. This allows you to quickly view, edit or share the image. It builds upon the Phone Link functionality Microsoft introduced last year.

As with most pre-release features, you likely won’t see Teams reminders or improved Android integration right away. Microsoft is testing with Windows Insiders first. But if all goes well, expect these conveniences to roll out more broadly to all eligible Windows 11 users in the coming months. So keep an eye out for these handy upgrades once they hit primetime.
