Looks like Microsoft is getting ready to dive back into the world of mixed reality. After taking a break from the consumer market to focus on the enterprise stuff with HoloLens, they’re reportedly ordering a bunch of fancy new screens from Samsung. Word on the street is these are for a new mixed reality headset that’s all about chillin’ out and enjoying games or movies.

Remember when Microsoft tried to make its own VR world with Windows Mixed Reality? Yeah, that didn’t go so well. But now, they’re trying again, and this time, they might be taking a different approach. Rumor has it they’re ditching Windows for Android and are even thinking about letting you run regular Windows apps on the headset, like magic.

It’s a crowded market out there, with Meta owning the VR space and Google teaming up with Samsung on something new. So, Microsoft has its work cut out for it. Can they pull off a comeback? We’ll have to wait and see.
