Threads is making a bigger push into podcast discovery and conversation with a new set of tools designed to help podcasters promote their shows and give listeners more ways to find, save, and discuss episodes.
Meta announced the new features on September 16, positioning Threads as a place where podcast creators can do more than simply share links to their latest episodes. The update brings dedicated profile and post features, episode discovery tools, reminders, and podcast-specific insights.
New tools for podcast creators
One of the biggest additions is the ability for podcasters to display banners across their Threads profiles and posts. The feature is designed to make it easier for people browsing Threads to recognize and find a creator’s podcast.
Creators can also use a new episode picker to feature a specific episode. Podcast links can appear as tappable cards, giving listeners a more direct route from a Threads post to the show.
Threads is also adding new ways to highlight individual moments from podcasts. Creators can share standout sections through transcript and video posts, while guest cards can be used to highlight people featured on an episode. That gives podcasters more material to turn a single episode into multiple pieces of social content.
The update also adds automatic reminders for creators. Podcasters can opt in to receive a notification from Threads reminding them to share new episodes with their audience.
For creators interested in measuring whether that activity actually drives listeners, Podcast Insights provides data on the reach and engagement generated by Threads, including clicks and saves.
Listeners get new ways to keep up with shows
The toolkit isn’t only aimed at creators. Threads users can now save podcast episodes they encounter in their feeds, making it easier to return to something they want to listen to later.
That matters because podcast discovery often happens outside dedicated podcast apps. A listener might encounter an episode while scrolling through a conversation, see a particularly interesting clip or transcript, and want to come back to it later. The new save option gives that discovery a more persistent place inside Threads.
The broader strategy fits with how Threads has been expanding its creator tools. Meta has increasingly added features intended to help creators build audiences on Threads and send people to content that exists elsewhere, including support for multiple profile links and more detailed link and post insights.
Threads reached 500 million monthly active users in June 2026, according to Meta, as the company continued positioning the platform around communities and conversations built around shared interests. Podcasts are a natural fit for that approach because the shows themselves can become starting points for ongoing discussions between creators and listeners.
With the latest update, Threads is effectively turning podcast promotion into a more structured part of the platform rather than treating podcasts as another type of external link. For podcasters, that means more ways to package an episode for social discovery; for listeners, it creates more opportunities to find shows and participate in the conversations surrounding them.
Meta says more podcast-related tools are still to come.
