The ongoing Earth Day celebration, Messenger and Messenger Kids roll out a new virtual road trip by collaborating with National Geographic on a collection of new 360 custom backgrounds where they can experience the beauty and wonder of Acadia, Canyonlands, Death Valley, and Rocky Mountain National Park all while you’re in a Room or on video calls in Messenger or on Portal.

Messenger will debut a new Earth Day art suite on April 19th, which will include a chat theme and custom stickers that will be available on both Messenger and Instagram, as well as a new 360 background that will be available exclusively on Messenger. The Earth Day art suite, designed and illustrated in collaboration with Lucas Wakamatsu, features vivid colors and bold landscapes that invite discussion about our world.

In Messenger Kids, kids can join in on the fun by exploring a magical forest and collecting flowers in the app, decorating their photos with an Earth Day frame and stickers, and even taking photos with an affectionate Earth Day friend through a brand new AR effect.

To access the new National Geographic and Earth Day 360 backgrounds, first, you need to open a Messenger app and then start a video call or create a Room and tap each of the backgrounds at the bottom of your screen.

To access the Earth Day chat theme, open a Messenger app and then open any chat thread you want and tap on the top bar to open the settings, then tap on “Theme”, there you will find the new Earth Day chat theme, if you didn’t see Earth Day chat theme then check update for Messenger app or you can wait until its rolling out to your country.

To access the Earth Day chat theme on Instagram, open any chat thread and tap on the information button I mean “i” button from the top right corner after you selecting chat thread. In this section tap on “Theme” and there you will see the Earth Day chat theme, if you don’t see then make sure your Instagram app is updated with the latest version, or you can wait until it’s rolling out.

To access Earth Day camera stickers, frames, AR effects, first, open the Messenger Kids app and select the camera button and tap to access the effects tray. You can access the “Flower Forest” game in the Explore tab.

To access the ‘Celebrate Earth’ sticker pack on Messenger, you can download it from here or by clicking the smiley face in the text box of any Messenger conversation. On Instagram Stories, you can access the sticker pack by pressing the sticker tool, selecting “GIF” and then searching for any of the following keywords: #EarthDay, #MotherEarth, #GoGreen
