Mercedes-Benz is diving deeper into digital convenience with its newly launched Apple Watch app, allowing drivers to interact with their vehicles directly from their wrists. This move brings the luxury automaker in line with a growing trend among car brands embracing wearable tech to enhance user experiences, alongside players like Ford and Volvo.

The Apple Watch extension mirrors many key features of the Mercedes-Benz smartphone app, making vehicle management easier than ever. With just a few taps on your watch, you can:

  • Check vehicle status: Monitor fuel or battery levels, view your vehicle’s range, and confirm whether windows are securely closed.
  • Remote locking and unlocking: Forgot to lock your car? No problem—secure it remotely through the app.
  • Locate your car: The app provides precise navigation to your parked vehicle using a map, pedestrian guidance, or even a compass mode for areas lacking detailed maps.

The app requires an iPhone with the Mercedes-Benz mobile app installed and works on Apple Watches running watchOS 9 or later. It’s currently compatible with models from 2019 onward, though the availability of features depends on your vehicle’s equipment package.

Initially launched for customers in Europe, the app will soon expand to markets in the United States, China, and the Asia-Pacific region. This staggered release reflects Mercedes-Benz’s approach to refining its digital offerings based on regional feedback before wider deployment.

For Mercedes-Benz, this innovation underscores its commitment to blending luxury with modern technology. The app simplifies tasks that previously required a smartphone, fitting seamlessly into the on-the-go lifestyle of its customers. By introducing this app, the brand further cements itself as a leader in connected vehicle technology—a key focus in today’s auto industry.

As wearables become more integrated into daily life, expect more automakers to follow suit, pushing the boundaries of how drivers and vehicles interact in increasingly intuitive ways.
