If you’ve been meaning to brighten up a dark kitchen counter, hallway, or closet without calling an electrician, this is one of those deals that’s very easy to say yes to. MCGOR’s 10-inch rechargeable under cabinet motion sensor lights are down to $15.96 for a two-pack on Amazon right now, which is 41% off the usual $26.99 list price, and that brings the per-light cost to $7.98.

You’re looking at Amazon’s Choice in under-cabinet lighting, with over 50,000 ratings averaging 4.5 out of 5 stars, and more than 10,000 units bought in the past month alone, so this isn’t some random no-name gadget. It’s the white-light, 10-inch version that’s on sale at the moment; there’s also a 3‑color model at a higher price if you want adjustable color temperature, but the deepest discount today is on the simple bright white option.

The headline feature is motion sensing that actually behaves the way you’d hope in real life. When you set the bar to motion mode, it automatically turns on when it detects movement within about 10 feet and a 120-degree range, but only in low-light or dark conditions, and then turns itself off roughly 20 seconds after no movement is detected. That means walking into the kitchen for a glass of water at midnight, opening a pantry, or heading down the stairs won’t have you fumbling for a switch or blinding yourself with the main overhead light. If you don’t want automation, you can flip it into an always-on mode for continuous tasks like food prep, reading, or even camping, and there’s also a full off mode when you just don’t need it.

Unlike a lot of cheap puck lights that offer a single brightness and harsh glare, these bars give you five levels of adjustable brightness and use 40 energy-saving LEDs behind a frosted diffuser to soften the light. That lets you run them at full power as proper task lighting for chopping veggies or working at a counter, then dial them down to a soft night-light so you’re not waking up the whole house. This level of control is something you normally see in pricier smart or hardwired systems, so seeing it in a sub-$20 rechargeable kit is a nice surprise.

Power is handled by a built-in 1,800mAh rechargeable battery, charged via USB-C rather than micro-USB, which is still annoyingly common in budget lighting. MCGOR says one full charge can last up to 7–45 days in motion sensor mode, depending on how often the lights trigger, or around 8 hours of continuous use at 100% brightness in always-on mode, which is plenty for most home scenarios. There’s no wall adapter in the box, but any standard USB charger or spare phone brick will work, and the fact that it’s rechargeable means you’re not stuck feeding it AA or AAA batteries every few weeks.

Installation is equally low-drama, which is key if you rent or just don’t feel like drilling into cabinets. The backs of the light bars are magnetic, so you can snap them straight onto any iron surface, or use the included adhesive metal plates to stick them under cabinets, in closets, along stair stringers, or in a hallway. Because the bars attach magnetically to those plates, you can just pull them down to recharge and then click them back into place, no tools required and no new holes in your furniture or walls.

In day-to-day use, this kind of light ends up being more versatile than the “under cabinet” label suggests. You can mount it inside a wardrobe so it comes on when you open the door, along basement stairs for safer late-night trips, in a hallway outside kids’ rooms as a soft guide light, or in a pantry that doesn’t have a wired fixture. The slim, modern bar design and neutral white color help it blend into most spaces, so even when it’s visible under a cabinet, it doesn’t scream “cheap gadget.”

It’s also worth noting that the market for rechargeable under-cabinet lights is pretty crowded, with brands like EZVALO, AMETHEUS, and Gritin offering multi-pack systems with more bars or advanced extras like remote controls and built-in battery indicators, often between roughly $35 and $60, depending on length and count. Those can make sense if you’re doing a full kitchen or a long run of shelving, but they also push the per-light cost significantly higher than what MCGOR is charging on this limited-time promo. At under $8 per bar, snagging a pair as a low-commitment way to test whether you like motion-activated lighting in your space is a pretty easy decision.

As with any Amazon deal, the “Limited time deal” tag means the 41% discount may not stick around for long, and pricing can jump back to the $26.99 list price or shift to other variants like the 3-color version. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your lighting in a renter-friendly way—or just want to stop stubbing your toes on a dark staircase—this is a strong, low-cost entry point that doesn’t require wiring, drilling, or any DIY courage.
