At the Mobile World Congress 2024, Lenovo unveiled a range of exciting updates to their ThinkPad and ThinkBook lineup, alongside innovative accessories. Among the highlights was the introduction of three revamped ThinkPad T-series models: the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, ThinkPad T14s Gen 5, and ThinkPad T16 Gen 3, all featuring Intel Core Ultra processors (with an AMD Ryzen 8040 option for the T14 Gen 5). These laptops now boast Lenovo‘s communication bar, which cleverly integrates the camera and microphones into the top bezel, resulting in a sleeker design and taller display ratios.
In a bid to enhance accessibility, Lenovo has incorporated tactile markings on the keyboards of the T-series laptops, similar to those found on the X1 Carbon and X1 2-in-1 models. Notably, Lenovo has also repositioned the Fn key and introduced a Microsoft Copilot key for improved usability. Furthermore, in a significant move towards repairability, Lenovo collaborated with iFixit to facilitate easier hardware component replacements on the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3. This includes fully socketed DIMM slots, user-replaceable batteries, and accessible SSD and wireless adapter slots.
For users new to laptop repairs, Lenovo has thoughtfully included clear markings on SSD and RAM slots, as well as QR codes inside the laptop body that link to instructional videos for each repairable component. Additionally, indicators guide users on which screws to remove when replacing components like the keyboard and trackpad.

Adding to their lineup is the upcoming ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2, featuring impressive specs such as an Intel Core Ultra U processor, 32GB LPDDR5x soldered RAM, and advanced camera capabilities.

Lenovo has also refined the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 laptop by adjusting key travel and touchpad size.

Complementing these devices are new peripherals like the ThinkVision M14t Gen 2 Mobile touch monitor and a USB-C Slim travel dock.

Consumers can expect Intel-configured ThinkPads to hit stores in April 2024 with prices starting at $1,199. The AMD configuration of the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 will be available in May 2024 starting at $949. The ThinkBook and USB-C dock are set to launch in March 2024 with prices starting at $1,169 and $89.99 respectively. The portable monitor is slated for release in July 2024 with a price tag of $399.
