LEGO F1 Build The Thrill On Track Activities

The roar of engines, the blur of brightly colored cars tearing down the track, and now, the satisfying click of LEGO bricks snapping into place. Formula 1 and The LEGO Group have teamed up once again, and they’re hitting the gas pedal hard for 2025. Starting March 1, a fresh lineup of LEGO sets inspired by the high-octane world of F1 is rolling out, giving fans—whether they’re pint-sized builders or seasoned collectors—a chance to recreate the magic of the sport in their living rooms. And trust me, this isn’t just a one-and-done drop. The partnership is revving up with immersive fan experiences, interactive challenges, and enough brick-built fun to keep you busy through every race weekend of the season.

As of today, you can get your hands on the latest additions to the LEGO Speed Champions line, a fan-favorite series known for its detailed, palm-sized replicas of real-world racers. These sets join the already-available LEGO DUPLO and LEGO City Formula 1 offerings, which cater to younger builders and casual fans alike. But hold onto your helmets—there’s more coming. On May 1, the final wave of 2025 LEGO F1 Collectibles will hit shelves, rounding out a lineup that promises to cover all ten F1 teams across multiple LEGO themes. From the toddler-friendly chunkiness of DUPLO to the sleek, display-worthy Speed Champions, there’s something here for everyone.

The Speed Champions sets, for instance, aren’t just generic race cars; they’re modeled after the real machines tearing up tracks in the 2025 season. Think McLaren papaya orange, Ferrari rosso corsa, and Red Bull’s iconic midnight blue, all distilled into brick form with an obsessive eye for detail. These aren’t toys you’ll toss in a bin after a week—they’re the kind of builds you’ll want to show off on a shelf, maybe next to your signed Max Verstappen cap (if you’re that kind of fan).

But this isn’t just about plastic bricks you assemble and forget. The LEGO Group and Formula 1 are going big, turning race weekends into a playground for fans of all ages. At select Grand Prix events throughout the year, expect to see LEGO Fan Zone Activations popping up trackside. These aren’t your average merch tents. We’re talking hands-on “Make and Take” activities where you can build mini F1-inspired creations and take them home, photo ops with life-sized LEGO sculptures (imagine posing next to a brick-built Lewis Hamilton), and a chance to drool over the full Formula 1 x LEGO collection in person.

If you’re the type who likes to flex your fandom with some swag, the LEGO Pit Shop pop-up stores will be your pit stop. They’ll stock the entire product line—Speed Champions, City, DUPLO, and those tantalizing Collectibles—featuring every F1 team from Mercedes to Haas. It’s a clever move, too. Nothing says “I was there” like snagging a LEGO Ferrari set at Monza or a Williams build at Silverstone.

Can’t make it to a race? No sweat. The LEGO Group’s got you covered with a slew of experiences that don’t require a plane ticket. Select LEGO stores across the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and China are gearing up for racing-themed play zones. Think giant build tables, F1-inspired displays, and in-store activities that’ll have kids (and let’s be real, adults too) tinkering with bricks to design their own dream racers.

Meanwhile, LEGOLAND Discovery Centres and LEGO Discovery Centres worldwide are rolling out build challenges that peel back the curtain on F1’s engineering wizardry. How do aerodynamics work? What makes a car hug those corners at 200 mph? Kids will get to wrestle with those questions, one brick at a time, while chasing the thrill of a podium finish. It’s educational, sure, but it’s also the kind of fun that doesn’t feel like homework.

And if you’re more of a digital native, there’s something for you too. LEGO’s website and Play App are launching an F1-themed game that promises a “deep dive” into the worlds of both brands. Details are still under wraps—LEGO’s keeping it as tight-lipped as an F1 team hiding their new wing design—but expect a mix of building challenges and racing action that’ll keep your thumbs busy between grands prix.

This whole collab isn’t just a cash grab—it’s a love letter to what makes Formula 1 tick. “This exciting collaboration with the LEGO Group keeps going from strength-to-strength and allows us to take the world of Formula 1 beyond the racetrack and directly into homes,” says Emily Prazer, Formula 1’s chief commercial officer, in a statement that’s equal parts corporate and genuine. She’s not wrong. F1’s always been about pushing boundaries—engineering, speed, strategy—and LEGO’s tapping into that same spirit.

Federico Begher, LEGO’s senior VP of new businesses, echoes that vibe: “We’re thrilled to kick off an incredibly exciting year for our collaboration with Formula 1. We have a wide range of immersive and creative experiences for fans and families to dive into throughout the entire year.” He’s talking about sparking curiosity, fostering a love for engineering, and yes, feeding that primal need for speed—all through a medium that’s been inspiring builders for generations.
