Meta, under the leadership of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has just unveiled some major enhancements to its social networking platform, Threads. The biggest highlight? An edit button, along with a nifty addition called “Voice Threads.” The best part? You won’t have to shell out any cash for these new features, setting Threads apart from its rival, X (formerly known as Twitter).
Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement on a Thursday, signaling a significant step forward for Meta’s burgeoning social network. The introduction of an edit feature is bound to be a game-changer, as it allows users to make quick revisions to their posts within five minutes of publishing. This means no more embarrassing typos or mistakes haunting your social media presence.

To indicate that a post has been edited, Threads will display a small icon next to the timestamp, ensuring transparency in the editing process. However, unlike its competitor X, Threads won’t offer an edit history feature. This might be an advantage for X users who want to track changes made to a post over time.
For those who closely follow social media trends, it’s worth noting that Twitter had introduced a similar edit feature as part of its premium subscription package, previously known as Twitter Blue, in October 2022. This was right before Elon Musk assumed leadership of the company. Now, with Threads offering this feature for free.
