Back in 2012, Geoffrey Moore tweeted this:

Thoughts from the week #1: Without big data analytics, companies are blind and deaf, wandering out onto the Web like deer on a freeway.

— Geoffrey Moore (@geoffreyamoore) August 13, 2012

Some people claimed that this is an overstatement but if we look at the world now, big data has invaded everything, especially sales and marketing.

Big data in marketing has shown to be a vital tool for improving consumer loyalty and engagement, optimizing performance, and helping make price decisions. Most certainly, giants like Charter use it too for creating its marketing content and enticing customers to call the Cox customer service phone number for conversion!

Big data is impacting content marketing as well. Big data has allowed businesses to generate rich and useful content that better targets customers’ primary needs. Let’s look at how it aids businesses in gathering data on customer behavior and creating a wholesome content marketing strategy.

  3. Verdict

First, Let’s Pause and Understand Big Data Briefly

Big data is a term that refers to the massive amount of data that is created every minute. The term Big Data is predicted to generate 1.64 billion search results, and this number is constantly growing in real.

But how do you use big data in your content strategy in a meaningful way? If it’s the data about your customers, their behaviors, and more, and arrives by lightning speed, it can help revamp your marketing strategy and give your audience what they want. The raw data collected might help you create types of content that are appealing to your target audience.

How Can Big Data Improve Your Content Marketing Strategy?

Here are some ways big data can help you devise a powerful content marketing strategy and by extension, improve your sales:

Offer a 360 Degree View of Your Audience

Knowing your customers gives small businesses access to information about their customers that was previously only available to giant financial institutions. Because of cloud computing and big data, the benefits of KYC are now available to even small and medium firms too.

Customer engagement, or how customers perceive and interact with your brand, is a critical component of your marketing activities. Big data analytics gives you the insights you need to make significant changes in the strategy. Once you know who your customers are, their behavior, interests, and other demographics, you can write content that hits them at the right spot.

Provide Financial Data and Other Numbers

Big data can assist you in evaluating the effectiveness of your content and optimizing your content strategy based on the information received. It also provides information such as the number of sales, conversions, money generated vs. marketing costs, and so on.

Another cool thing is that it can also help you extract any publicly available financial information about your competitors, such as their pricing strategy.

Boost Conversion Rate

The goal of content marketing is to take a potential customer through the sales funnel and convert them into paying a customer. Big Data can assist you in identifying the appropriate content kinds to boost your conversion rate. This will enable you to generate content for a variety of reasons, whether it’s educational to conversion-oriented.

With big data, you can keep track of a user’s interaction with your content and the length of time they spend on it and then make tweaks in the content based on that information.

Imagine if you are able to extract information like when does the user decide to convert? It’s possible with big data! This information can assist you in improving your content and then the conversion rate. It will help you find the aspects that contribute to conversion by understanding consumer behavior. You can then incorporate them in your copywriting and see how your target audience reacts to them.

Improve Your Account Visibility

Big data can also help improve your market presence by producing material that increases your visibility.

To accomplish this, your material must be interesting, informative, SEO-friendly, and, most importantly, of interest to your visitors. You can analyze your competitors to see what appeals to your target market and which distribution channels will produce the best results.

Verdict

Big data provides us with eyes and ears for our marketing campaigns. It can offer those details about customers that were never possible today. We can react to audience actions in real-time and influence customer behavior at the moment. It’s time you start incorporating big data in your marketing campaigns to target your customers with the right type of content.
