Google has unveiled the second generation of its premium wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The tech giant is betting big on a smaller, smarter, and more expensive package to entice consumers.

At first glance, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 might seem like a familiar sight to owners of the original model. However, Google insists that these new earbuds are significantly more compact, shedding 27% of their predecessor’s weight. Under the hood, the company has introduced a custom Tensor A1 chip, a move that echoes Apple’s strategy with its AirPods. This chip is tasked with enhancing noise cancellation, call quality, and overall audio performance across various environments.

Other notable features include a “conversation detection” mode akin to Sony’s implementation, wireless charging, compatibility with Google’s Find My Device network, and an impressive battery life of up to 12 hours with active noise cancellation turned off.
