Looks like Google threw in the towel on keeping the Pixel 9 Pro a secret. After a ton of leaks, including hands-on videos and comparisons, Google just up and revealed the phone itself. They’re planning a bigger reveal event on August 13th to show off more about the Pixel 9 lineup and other stuff, but for now, the cat’s outta the bag (or should we say, the phone’s outta the box?).
In a short video, Google gave us a quick peek at the Pixel 9 Pro and hinted that artificial intelligence and Gemini, are gonna be a big deal for this phone. You can also sign up to learn more about it on the Google store website, where they’ve got another picture of the phone.
Here’s the thing: thanks to leaks, we already kinda knew what the Pixel 9 Pro looked like and what it might be able to do. Regulatory filings and rumors also suggest Google’s got a whole Pixel party planned, with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and even a foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold on the way. So, with the big event just a month away, we won’t have to wait forever to see what Google’s got cooking.
Some folks might think Google revealing the Pixel 9 Pro early is them admitting defeat to the leaks. But maybe it’s actually a smart move. By showing the phone themselves, Google controls the story and can focus on the things they want us to know. Plus, it probably helps build some buzz for their August event, where they’ll likely show off all their new Pixel gadgets.
