Google will discontinue the Google Shopping app for iOS and Android in a few weeks

Whether you like it or not, now you forcefully switch over to the Google Shopping web version, because Google will be shutting down the Google Shopping app for the iOS and Android platform in a few weeks, which means you cannot use the Google Shopping app in the future, as well as it will no longer available on App Store or Google Play Store.

This bad news is coming from 9to5Google, where they stated that “the apps are going dark but will continue to work until June.” Being said that, Google Shopping will not go down but the web version and the Shopping tab in Google Search will be still working, while the Google Shopping app will no longer support it.

“Within the next few weeks, we’ll no longer be supporting the Shopping app,” a Google spokesperson told 9to5Google. “All of the functionality the app offered users is available on the Shopping tab. We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that make it easy for people to discover and shop for the products they love.”

Also, some users who have updated to version 59 of the Google Shopping app getting messages about the app was unavailable in recent days. “The app is unavailable right now, but you can continue shopping on shopping.google.com,” the message reads.
