Android 15 is finally here for Pixel users! After weeks of anticipation, Google has started rolling out the latest version of its OS to Pixel devices, bringing a range of exciting new features and security upgrades. This update, which was first made available via the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) last month, is now accessible on Pixel phones and tablets.
One of the standout features of Android 15 is the introduction of “private space.” This new feature allows you to hide certain apps—like social, dating, or banking apps—from your recent apps and notifications. You can even go as far as making this private space invisible entirely, with access protected by additional authentication. This offers an extra layer of privacy if someone else uses your phone.
For foldable and tablet users, Android 15 brings enhancements to multitasking. You can now pin and unpin the taskbar, giving you quicker access to your apps. Additionally, app pairing is supported, so if you often use two apps side by side, you can access them with a single tap.
Security is a major focus with Android 15. A new feature, Theft Detection Lock, uses AI to lock your phone if it senses it’s been stolen. Additionally, Remote Lock enables you to lock your phone from another Android device, further safeguarding your personal data. Some of these features will even be available on devices running Android 10 or newer.
Along with Android 15, Pixel owners are also receiving a feature drop this October. This includes Night Sight for Instagram, allowing you to capture better photos in low-light conditions, and enhanced controls for Audio Magic Eraser. If you have a Pixel Tablet and a Pixel Phone, Google is rolling out a feature that lets you transfer media between the two devices just by holding them next to each other.
For Pixel enthusiasts, Android 15 is available on devices ranging from the Pixel 6 series up to the latest Pixel 9, including foldables and tablets.
