Epic Games has announced Chapter 5: Season 2 of Fortnite, titled “Myths & Mortals,” which will introduce elements of Greek mythology to the popular battle royale game.

Fortnite‘s infamous island has undergone a dramatic transformation, with several new locations paying homage to the mythological realms of ancient Greece. Mount Olympus, the celestial abode of the gods, now graces the map, offering players a chance to bask in its divine presence. Additionally, the underworld, guarded by the formidable Cerberus, adds a touch of intrigue and danger to the gameplay experience.

In keeping with the mythological theme, players will have access to a range of power-ups and items that channel the might of the Greek gods themselves. The Wings of Icarus will allow players to take flight, soaring above the battlefield with grace and agility. Zeus’ thunderbolts, a potent weapon capable of hurling lightning bolts at targets, will undoubtedly electrify the combat experience. Furthermore, the Chains of Hades, set to be introduced later in the season, promises to unleash a sinister force upon unsuspecting adversaries.

No Fortnite season would be complete without an enticing battle pass, and “Myths & Mortals” promises to deliver a pantheon of legendary characters. Players who purchase the battle pass will have the opportunity to unlock a diverse array of Greek gods, including the alluring Aphrodite, the fearsome Medusa, and an adorable Slurp Juice version of Poseidon, the god of the sea. As the season progresses, players can also look forward to unlocking Korra, the iconic character from the Avatar: The Last Airbender spinoff series, The Legend of Korra.

Myths & Mortals follows the recent launch of Chapter 5, which marked a significant shift for Fortnite. While the battle royale mode remains a cornerstone of the game, Chapter 5 has transformed Fortnite into a platform for various gaming experiences. The new chapter debuted with Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and the Fortnite Festival, showcasing Epic Games’ commitment to innovation and diversity.
